Road Map To Owning Your Energy

This Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 9:24 am ET the energy of the New Moon in Leo will be at its height. This means, Saturday night is the perfect time to set intentions for this next phase around your true inner purpose & how you express yourself around others. Time to get to it!

New Moons represent new beginnings & Leo’s charismatic energy is all about living life as your heart desires. Leo rules the heart & New Moon energy is about looking inward to discover what has been wanting to be expressed. This is a time to be quiet & listen – to look deep within to discover more about who we truly are so we can unapologetically move forward as our true authentic selves. It’s time to relax into a state of expressing your individuality, & think about how you can experience a little more fun & play within the communities you choose.

This Moon is also aspecting several planets in interesting ways. The below descriptions include the House placements based on the chart for this New Moon’s energy at its peak. The House placements show us in what field of life experience these energies will arise & will vary based on each individual’s own Natal Chart / Birth Chart. How the current planetary placements influence you will also vary depending on your own natal planetary placements.

Conjunct Mercury in Leo in the 12^th House – This is a time to think about your soul growth, your hidden strengths & weaknesses, & your dreams & start expressing yourself with these ideas in mind. Speaking your truth from the perspective of what your heart desires beyond superficial small talk, but also listening – really listening to what others are willing to share with you. You don’t have to take what anyone says to heart, but everyone has a need to be heard. As you contemplate how you move forward expressing yourself in the groups & communities you interact with, consider this.

Opposite Saturn in Aquarius in the 5^th House – Opposites are such fascinating aspects to me! On the one hand, this could indicate a magical dynamic conversation between the planets where things can really move forward with an incredible sparkle, but on the other hand, there could be so much challenge wrapped up in it, you’d really need to be creative about how to get the energies to work together smoothly.

The ancient ruler of Aquarius, Saturn is right at home in this sign (Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius). Aquarius energy is about creating original & revolutionary ideas to improve the way we live & Saturn is the planet whose energy provides the structure & integrity we need to get things done – to provide the container so these ideas can be realized in our tangible reality. This shows up in the 5^th house which is the house of play, creative self-expression, & our attitude towards having fun.

So, as we look within to discover what our soul is speaking through our heart, can we, in fact, find new ways to be more playful in our approaches to manifesting our dreams & goals, so we can feel more free – especially as they relate to our interactions with other people? Can you relax into this dynamic conversation & express what is truly in your heart, listening, but not letting the opinions of others stand in the way of you manifesting into tangible reality your soul’s work?

Square Uranus in Taurus in the 8^th House – Oh squares! Squares really get a bad rap! There are so many people who talk about square aspects as if there’s just no way to work with them. I believe there’s always a way – ha ha! Squares are our best opportunities for real growth. We have to be so creative to work with the challenges which may arise – it just takes some effort, but we can!

Uranus energy represents the radical shifts in our thinking & in our lives. You know – the inspirational flashes we get that sometimes flip our lives upside down where there was no warning… Or is this a me thing? Anyway, Uranus is a fairly slow-moving planet, so it’s in Taurus for a good long minute, so these eccentric ideas coming up around our value systems, relationships, what we view as pleasurable, how we find a sense of security & stability – well during this time, our attitude towards crisis & change may see a shift. If we would ordinarily be totally rocked by something like this coming up, we might just choose to ride it through this time. This is the planet of awakening, so while we may be a bit uncomfortable with the shifts, we can always be sure new perspectives with help us grow into the person we know we ultimately are here to be!

Trine Chiron in Aries in the 7^th House – A trine aspect is so smoothly supportive, it has a bit of a lazy quality. Chiron, “the wounded healer” signifies our deepest spiritual wounds, but also our greatest spiritual strengths. These are the areas in life that will teach us the most & give us the tools to teach others. This aspect is about us taking courageous action & moving forward consciously based on the lessons we’ve learned from our deepest spiritual wounds to achieve our desires. As we look within our hearts to discover our true inner purpose, this New Moon is a great time to look at these lessons & move forward, especially as they pertain to our important adult relationships.

The mysterious Lion’s Gate portal – 8/8 has been celebrated for thousands of years as a mysterious date & is considered one of the most magical days of the year. This is when the Sun in Leo & the star Sirius (the “spiritual sun”) are in alignment. Sirius illuminates our soul’s ambitions in this life, so this is the time to manifest the big dreams which align most closely with our soul’s purpose – especially because this year, it aligns perfectly with the Leo New Moon! Get it done!!

Even if you don’t regularly participate in a New Moon ritual, don’t skip this one.

• Meditate Saturday night and Sunday, specifically on listening to your heart for the deep inner knowing that only really comes through when we allow ourselves to be super quiet & still.
• Listen to your creative inner free spirit.
• Let go of any thoughts around what you think the opinions of others may be.
• Let go of any desire for outside validation.
• Just listen to where your creative vision guides you – no matter how unexpected or “out there” it may seem.
• Whatever it is, write it down. If you feel resistant to it at all, consider why. Is the resistance tied to a story you’ve created about you not being deserving or good enough to live that life? Is the resistance tied to a story someone else created for you about your own life? Is the resistance tied to framework you’ve set up for a different path? Whatever it is, just write it all down.
• Think about it & don’t immediately dismiss any inspirational flashes which may come to you. Be open to seeing all perspectives.
• Slow down & look through your creative eye.
• Write down anything that comes up – it doesn’t need to immediately make sense.

Allow yourself the opportunity to explore what might be & come back to these ideas over the next few days & weeks & just see where the shifts in perspective lead you!
